Visiting Teacher Classes

Julia M. Usher

In February 2017, Miss Biscuit is thrilled to announce we will be hosting Julia Usher from Recipes for a Sweet Life.

Julia will be offering three classes (Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced) over three days, in which you will learn different skills and techniques in each. Book one class or even all three! Julia will be holding classes in Melbourne (Seddon) and Sydney (Castle Hill).

 Please note that the Melbourne classes will be held at Miss Biscuit in Seddon. While the Sydney classes will run at Cake Decorating Central in Castle Hill. A confirmation email will be sent to all participants a week or so before the class.

Classes will run from 9am – 5.30pm each day with everything, including lunch, provided.

Please note:

  • Full payment needs to be made at the time of booking
  • There will be no refunds or credits at any stage, however tickets can be transferred into someone else’s name if you are unable to attend. Please let us know if this occurs!
  • Confirmation details will be emailed one week prior to the class date

Beginner Class

Learning Outcomes:
– Making/baking embossed cookies
– Outlining, flooding and needlepoint (as an extension of outlining and flooding)
– Wet-on-wet and marbling
– Stencilling with royal icing and airbrush
– Rubber-stamping, dusting and painting basics
– Working with edible papers and edible cake lace
– 3-D piped floral transfers and piped border work

Intermediate Class

Leaning Outcomes:
– Making/baking contoured cookies
– Outlining, flooding and needlepoint (as an extension of outlining and flooding)
– Dipping, wet-on-wet and marbling
– Stencilling with royal icing
– Rubber-stamping, dusting, painting basics
– Working with edible papers, fondant appliqués, 2-D and 3-D piped transfers and piped border work
– 3-D assembly techniques

Advanced Class

Learning Outcomes:
– Making/baking contoured cookies
– Outlining/flooding, needlepoint (as an extension of outlining and flooding)
– Dipping
– Creating textured moss effect
– Stencilling with royal icing,
– Airbrushing
– Working with edible papers and edible cake lace, 2-D and 3-D piped transfers, piped border work
– 3-D assembly techniques.
